COLOMBO (News 1st); Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa states that he has doubts whether a trillion rupees is being printed to give relief to the rich.
Participating in a discussion with a delegation from the United Front of Persons with Disabilities, the Opposition Leader said that most stories are being heard with regard to the wealthy in the country, who owe money to public financial institutions.
Adding that the country’s billionaires have not paid taxes in trillions and billions of rupees, the Opposition Leader questioned whether the same amount of funds are being printed to grant them relief.
He further stated that there is are some rich people, who robbed the People’s Bank, the Bank of Ceylon and the Central Bank, in broad daylight, and demanded whether those funds will be written off.
