    About Sajith

    A better Sri Lanka for the Future Generations!

    Sajith, an Economic, International Relations and Politics graduate from London School of Economics took the plunge into politics in 1994 after the demise of his beloved father. Since then, Sajith has spearheaded many projects to alleviate poverty and develop the country. A constant winner of hearts and votes of the people of Sri Lanka, Sajith served as the Minister of Housing, Construction & Cultural affairs from 2015 to 2019 and is the Leader of the main opposition party of Sri Lanka, Samagi Jana Balawegaya. Sajith is also an avid wild-life photographer and a nature lover.

    The Govt proposes to amend Section 363 & 364 of the Penal code to reduce age of consent from 16 to 14 years, provide for suspended sentence for male perpetrators under 22, and abolish women specific rape law.

    Opposition Leader @sajithpremadasa orchestrated the provision of nutritional rations to 2,500 mothers-to-be in the Colombo district in celebration of this year’s #InternationalWomensDay. The initiative unfolded at Gunasinghe Stadium, with a total expenditure of 15m rupees.

    In celebration of International Women’s Day yesterday, the ‘Husmak’ program of @sajithpremadasa and Jalani Premadasa presented an incubator machine and two baby warmer machines valued at 4.6m rupees to the Castle Hospital, Colombo.
