    About Sajith

A better Sri Lanka for the Future Generations!

Sajith, an Economic, International Relations and Politics graduate from London School of Economics took the plunge into politics in 1994 after the demise of his beloved father. Since then, Sajith has spearheaded many projects to alleviate poverty and develop the country. A constant winner of hearts and votes of the people of Sri Lanka, Sajith served as the Minister of Housing, Construction & Cultural affairs from 2015 to 2019 and is the Leader of the main opposition party of Sri Lanka, Samagi Jana Balawegaya. Sajith is also an avid wild-life photographer and a nature lover.

In 2019 we signed a charter for the 1.7 million disabled people to ensure their dreams & aspirations are realised. Recognising that there is much to be done, we are committed to carrying out all the provisions of the charter.

The sacred duty of our police is to protect the citizens of Sri Lanka. Manhandling women, including female officers, should never be allowed. We will take this up with the IGP to ensure that any officer mistreating the people will be brought before the law and dealt with.

My deepest condolence to the people of India for the tragedy in Morbi, Gujarat. My thoughts and prayers are with families that have lost loved ones, and I wish those injured a full and fast recovery.
