    About Sajith

    A better Sri Lanka for the Future Generations!

    Sajith, an Economic, International Relations and Politics graduate from London School of Economics took the plunge into politics in 1994 after the demise of his beloved father. Since then, Sajith has spearheaded many projects to alleviate poverty and develop the country. A constant winner of hearts and votes of the people of Sri Lanka, Sajith served as the Minister of Housing, Construction & Cultural affairs from 2015 to 2019 and is the Leader of the main opposition party of Sri Lanka, Samagi Jana Balawegaya. Sajith is also an avid wild-life photographer and a nature lover.

    It’s #WorldElephantDay today. 2500 years ago, the world’s first wildlife sanctuary was established in Mihintale based on the principle that animals and humans have equal rights to the land. #ProjectElephant will strive to uphold that same principle in elephant conservation.

    It’s #InternationalYouthDay and the theme is “Intergenerational Solidarity”. We have to acknowledge on this day that we have not created the right environment and support for the young to thrive in this country, and that’s the biggest system change that we need.
